Pune saw its greatest single-day hop during the third wave and recorded 6,464 new cases on Sunday. Mumbai revealed 19,474 cases on Sunday, somewhat under 20,318 cases enlisted on Saturday. Across the state, 44,388 new cases were accounted for. Specialists ascribed the slight plunge in cases in Mumbai to a little drop in testing on Sunday, unreported positive cases due to at-home antigen testing packs and excess of RT-PCR test reports.


Maharashtra on Sunday revealed 207 new instances of the Omicron variation of Covid, taking the state's general count of such patients to 1,216, an authority articulation said. Sangli detailed 57 instances of the Omicron variation, trailed by 40 in Mumbai, 22 in Pune city, 21 in Nagpur, 15 in Pimpri Chinchwad, 12 in Thane city, 8 in Kolhapur, 6 in Amravati, and 5 in Osmanabad. Buldhana and Akola each additional four such cases, Gondia 3, while Nandurbar, Satara, and Gadchiroli added 2 Omicron cases. Aurangabad, Latur, Jalna, and Mira Bhayander added one case every, news office PTI revealed. Of the complete 1,216 cases up to this point, 454 have been released after the negative test report.
